Brurry Template Icon PSD

I’m falling in love with rounded-square icons in no time because it has a great clarity for quick access and easy to recognized. Now the icon with similar shape as iPhone’s default icon are being popular since the guys at IconFactory released sort of System and Extra icons.

Unfortunately, it only covers Mac’s most popular apps. I don’t want my Dock looks messy and lack of inconsistencies by leaving the less-famous one untouched. So I decide to create Brurry —Photoshop template that you can download for FREE!

Installing 64-bit MySQL on Snow Leopard

As usual, upgrading an OS require you to reconfigure the previous installed services such as MySQL, PHP, and Apache. There is a 64-bit version of MySQL 5.1 that you can use on Snow Leopard. Although it was designed for Leopard, you can deploy it without any hassles.

However the .pkg installer contains only 32-bit version of MySQL Preference Pane menu. Installing it will reopen the System Preferences into compatibility mode and sometimes it will bothering you.

Thanks to the people at Swoon.net that already made 64-bit MySQL prefPane. Grab it and you’re good to go.

Filter UV, Perlukah?

Hal ini masih hangat diperbincangkan diantara fotografer digital. Namun pada praktiknya kebanyakan filter Ultraviolet justru merusak sebagian hasil foto. Lalu, apakah manfaat filter UV sebetulnya? Perlukah ia digunakan pada lensa-lensa kamera DSLR?

Pengalaman saya dan beberapa rekan bersama filter UV tidaklah menyenangkan. Terutama pada saat kami menggunakan lensa super wide, fixed, dan zoom diatas 100mm. Dampak yang kami peroleh pun bermacam-macam.

Jadi jangan terjebak dengan promosi marketing berlebihan karena belum tentu tepat untuk kebutuhan kita.
